Happy New Year and welcome to the new school year! We are excited to embark on another journey of learning and growth together with your children. An extra special welcome to our brand-new Foundation students and families!

Teachers and students have started the year focused on building positive relationships and establishing their class routines. An inclusive, predictable and supportive classroom environment helps children to feel safe and confident at school and in turn improves their wellbeing and learning outcomes. From morning circle time to end-of-day reflections, these routines provide structure and set clear expectations, encouraging students to take risks in their learning and develop independence, knowing they have a stable space to explore and learn.

To start the year on a joyful note, we are encouraging our students and staff to take part in the “What Makes You Happy?” challenge. This gives our students an opportunity to reflect on what brings them joy and share it with their classmates. Whether it’s playing with friends, reading a favourite book, or spending time outdoors, we hope this challenge sparks a conversation about the little things that brighten our lives. It's a great way to build community and encourage gratitude from the very start of the year.

Here are a few ‘what makes you happy’ quotes:

-‘Coming to school and meeting my teacher.’ (Mif Rah FC)
-‘Doing Pe and Art.’ (Troy 1/2F)
-‘Playing soccer with my friends’ (Ozid 3/4D)
- ‘My teacher helping me with my work.’ (Aziza 3/4F)
-‘Being a role model for younger students.’ (Wahida 5/6F)
