2025 National Youth Science Forum Year 12 Program

The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) Year 12 Program gives students that are about to start Year 12 a broader understanding of study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Staying on campus at university colleges, students are immersed in science and technology. Participants:
- participate in tours of science and technology facilities,
- learn about cutting-edge research,
- engage with industry partners and research providers,
- learn about university, training and STEM career pathways,
- mix with like-minded students their age from all over Australia,
- participate in social and team building activities, and
- network with former NYSF participants.
In January 2025, the NYSF Year 12 Program will run two summer sessions at:
- The Australian National University, Canberra (6 –14 January)
- The University of Queensland, Brisbane (15 – 23 January)
As part of the application process, any students experiencing financial hardship or another disadvantage that negatively impacts their ability to attend the program may apply for an NYSF Access and Equity Scholarship. Students are also encouraged to approach Rotary Clubs after they have started their program application if they need funding support to attend the NYSF Year 12 Program.
Applications close 15 July 2024.
InspireU STEM Camp

The InspireU STEM Camp allows Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Year 11 or 12 in 2025 to join a week-long camp to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics study options and careers.
The camp is perfect for students planning on going to university to explore what degree to study and build their knowledge about university life. The program exposes you to various career and study options at UQ.
You're given a holistic experience of university life, which is delivered in collaboration with current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students, UQ’s faculties and industry partners. You'll attend jam-packed, engaging sessions with a hands-on component.
You're eligible if you:
- are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- are enrolled in high school at the time of application
- are enrolled in ATAR subjects and eligible for an ATAR score
- have a school attendance rate of 90% or greater.
All reasonable costs for the camp, including all travel, flights, accommodation, meals and excursions are paid for by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit (ATSISU).
WAAPA Acting for Stage

From mastering the fundamentals to honing your storytelling prowess, improvisation skills and ability to create a character, this course is your ticket to unlocking your full potential as a vibrant performer! Make new friends while building on core performance skills which you can showcase to family and friends on the last day.
Institute of Modern Languages High School Enrichment Program

BinarX School Holiday Program

This two-week program with the BinarX team will guide you to design, construct, and launch your very own space project in a 3D-printed payload bay within your own personalised model rocket.

You will have access to Curtin University Space Environment Testing Facilities and use real space hardware.

The SciX@UNSW program is designed to support passionate high school students who are eager to delve into scientific research. Join one of our research groups and conduct an independent research project, ideal for HSC Extension Science, IB independent projects, or as a taste of a career in research science. The projects are overseen by our academic research staff and are delivered primarily by our graduate research students. They will introduce you to cutting-edge research tools and methodologies and guide you as you extend your scientific skills.
The centrepiece of the SciX experience is a one-week intensive summer school, held in January. During this week on campus at UNSW Sydney, you’ll be supported in developing your individual hypothesis, collecting your data, and getting started on your analysis, all before the summer holidays are over!

The program targets students in Year 8 to 9 who have an interest in science or engineering, and would like to find out more about the many rewarding careers in STEM.
DISCOVER is a non-residential program. The cost does not include accommodation or travel to and from the program.
