Thea’s Tennis Journey

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about Thea Teo (5/6E). She has been working tirelessly in the pursuit of her tennis aspirations. This tennis season has been a fruitful one, filled with memorable achievements. 

Thea was selected to represent Victoria in Tennis Australia’s Super 10s Victoria vs NSW State of Origin tournament. This tournament pits the top 24 boys and 24 girls from the VIC Super 10s program against their NSW counterparts. 

A record 96 players participated in a total of 144 matches. It was a fantastic weekend filled with competitive matches and great camaraderie as VIC players connected with the NSW team. Team VIC came up tops with the match tally finishing at 79-65. As the second seed of Team VIC, Thea was given the opportunity to face off the first and second seeds of Team NSW. Although she lost to NSW's first seed on Day 1, she shrugged off the loss and came back to win the second seed on Day 2. 

In addition to her state-level success, Thea also made significant strides in local club and association competitions. Representing the Northern Suburban Junior Tennis Association (NSJTA), her team was runner-up in the annual Association Junior Pennant (AJP) Under 10s ladder. Unfortunately, due to rain interruptions, the grand final couldn’t be completed. The other team was awarded the win on technicalities. Despite this setback, Thea and her team displayed exceptional sportsmanship and skills throughout the competition and were leading in matches before the washout. 

Both local clubs that she represented on weekends also made the semi-finals. One of them, North Park Tennis Club, went on to win the premiership of the A Reserve 2 ladder. It was also noteworthy that Thea was undefeated in this ladder and played an intricate role to the success of the team. 

As a result of her outstanding performances, Thea has climbed up in the Under 12 Girls rankings, now holding the 27th position in Victoria and 108th nationally – a remarkable milestone! 

CGPS - Swimming Program

Over the last 2 weeks, we have been running our swimming program at Melbourne City Baths. 

In small groups, students worked on swimming skills as well as water safety. Our staff have been blown away by the students’ incredible respect and independence shown, walking to and from the pool and during our lessons. 

We would like to give a massive shout out to all family members who gave us some of their precious time to help out, they played a huge part in ensuring the program ran smoothly!
