Class Report

Grade 6

HELLO GUYS!! We, Grade 6s have recently had a busy week near the end of this year. In this Grade 6 Newsletter we will be covering different events that happened this week such as Orientation day at University High School on the 10th of December and our Graduation ceremony at our school on the 12th of December.

ORIENTATION:

Orientation day was held on the 10th of December, and we had a taste of University High School classes, met our classmates, got a tour around the school, ate tasty sausage sizzles with soft drinks, and had lots of fun. The first thing in the morning we had a greeting, where we met our principal, Ciar Foster. We had our sample classes, such as History, that we had with Mr. Brickham, and we were analyzing an ancient Chinese drawing. We also tried out some Science, and we explored chromatography. We also tried out some music instruments, like the clarinet, the violin and many more. When we were exploring the grounds of UHS, we went to classes like the 3D art class. At lunch, all of the students in year 6 lined up to get a sausage and a soft drink including cola and lemonade. We also met our year 10 peer supporters. These people are a group of people who help year 7s with their first time at UHS. At the end of the day we had a short assembly, with the older grades performing a big orchestra, and information about next year's camp. We can’t wait to go to high school next year!

GRADUATION:

Graduation is predicted to be the best time of year for grade 6’s, 12’s, and university students. Our graduation ceremony was held in the evening of the 12th of December 2024. We Grade 6s are feeling very excited for finally graduating after 7 years of learning at CGPS. Meeting our future classmates on Tuesday was really exciting and we are all looking forward to the future.

REFLECTIONS:

However, we have also made some memories during our time in primary school. We enjoyed lots of things, such as excursions like going to GTAC, participating in sports events, donating to fundraisers, and going to camps.

Here’s some words collected from multiple Grade 6s.

“Honestly I will really miss the tiny playgrounds and the tiny yard, because when I go to high school, everything is very big and intimidating, and I would very easily get lost.”

“I'm sure that when I go to high school, I will be very scared and worried because everything is new to me. I would have to make new friends because my friends aren’t in my class, and I’m always wondering what people might think of me.”

“I will miss the teachers because they are very cheerful and I enjoy learning from them.”

In conclusion, we Grade 6s have had an enjoyable time at Carlton Gardens Primary School. We hope to see you again, and good luck with the rest of your journey!!!!!!!
