LivCare

Term 4 2024

In Livcare we have continued to make new connections between our 3 and 4 year-old sessional groups. The children are developing different ways of listening toothers’ ideas and having an understanding of respecting their peers in play. They have shown great resilience with our limited space outside and have enjoyed our partially new outside space.

With the days becoming warmer we have been using ice, water and colour drops sensory play. Some of the groups have been exploring with seeded grains, salt and measuring cups pouring and tipping to fill other containers.

Some of our group games include:

  • Rainbow ring
  • Parachute game
  • Musical statues
  • Musical mats (musical chairs)
  • Musical instruments- beats
  • The colour game.

Relaxation is a focal point for the longer Livcare sessions, as its a chance for the children to recharge and rejuvenate their mind and bodies. The children have the opportunities to listen to stories/music from the Indigenous communities, as well as introduce different genres of music like classical music, lullabies from around the world and guitar strums.

We have enjoyed listening to fairy tale stories and sounddrums.  On our shorter Livcare sessions following a longer kinder session the children participate in small group activities that are usually quieter:

  • Mindfulness colouring
  • Sensory experiences
  • Art and craft- mask making, pattern craft, candle pictures with water colours
  • Construction with knights and fairies
  • Listening stories
  • Small group games- shopping list, who’s house, dinosaur dot
  • Small world - mermaids, stones and water.

The children have built secure attachments with all of the Livcare Educators which helps with a smooth transition into Livcare.

Cheers,

Livcare Team.
