Waratah Group

Term 4 2024

What a fantastic year we have had in Waratah.  This Term, as throughout the year, we have continued to plan the program based on independence, autonomy and social and emotional skills as these are important developmental areas and skills for children to have to ensure a smooth transition to school. We have also been having open discussions about going to school, feelings around this and strategies we could use to help.

We have been continuing with “ What’s in the box ?” (Show and tell) this term, which builds children’s confidence and helps develop effective communication skills. Another highlight over the past month has been observing the change in the outside area and watching how it is done. These conversations encourage children to notice changes and recall information, hypothesise and verbalise their thoughts all STEM skills needed for school and life.

To all the family members who have helped out with washing, bringing in resources, offering words of support, taken on committee roles and have joined us in the session at various times throughout the year we thank you.

Thank you also to the children for bringing their curiosity, joy, and enthusiasm to kinder each day. Your laughter, creativity, and growth are what make our kinder sessions amazing.  We are grateful to have been part of your learning journey.

Wishing all our families a joyful and restful holiday season.

Louise, Tina and Liz.
