What's Been Happening in Year 5
This term, our Year 5 students had the exciting opportunity to attend camp at Don Bosco, and it was truly a wonderful experience filled with fun, adventure and connection. From the very beginning of the day, students were full of energy and excitement as they explored the Enchanted Adventure Garden and participated in a variety of engaging activities. The tube slides, canopy walk, lower hedge maze and formal gardens were just some of the many experiences that made the day so special and gave students the chance to challenge themselves, have fun and enjoy time together.
When students arrived at Don Bosco, the excitement continued as they eagerly took part in the wide range of camp activities on offer. Kayaking and the beach carnival were clear favourites, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, courage and teamwork throughout. The trivia night, disco and game night were also major highlights, bringing plenty of laughter, joy and unforgettable moments for everyone involved.
Camp provided students with so much more than just fun activities. It was a valuable opportunity for them to build confidence, resilience and independence while also strengthening their friendships and creating new connections with their peers. It was wonderful to see students stepping outside their comfort zones, encouraging one another and embracing every experience with such positivity.
The Year 5 camp was a fantastic and memorable experience, and we are so proud of the way our students represented the school. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and willingness to join in made the camp a great success and one that will be remembered fondly by both students and staff.
What's Been Happening in Year 1
Last week, the Grade 1 students participated in an exciting road safety incursion, where they learned about important road rules and different road signs. The students discussed how to stay safe when walking or riding near roads and practiced recognising common signs they might see in their community. We also went on an excursion to the Essendon Traffic School, where the students had the chance to apply their learning. Riding their bikes around the mini roads, they practised following road signs, stopping at crossings, and sharing the road safely with others. It was a fun and valuable experience that helped the students build their confidence and understanding of road safety.
