Kitchen Garden

On Monday the grade 3 Kitchen Garden team learnt all about the water cycle... and then headed to the kitchen to make play dough. 

Working in small groups, students were challenged to carefully listen to each step in the method, before gathering their ingredients and equipment, accurately measuring, stirring, kneading and then finally testing their dough.

On Wednesday year 3-6 students enjoyed a fun egg challenge... who can cook the perfect hard-boiled egg! We watched celebrity chef Jamie Oliver demonstrate the best techniques (soft boiled (5-6mins) semi-soft (6-8mins) and hard boiled (11-12mins) before each student selected an egg and named and decorated it (including recording how long they would boil their egg for).

We then headed to the kitchen to cook, peel and eat the eggs. Yum! While we waited for the eggs to cook students prepared and cooked the ingredients for our Thursday Special Fried Rice lunch.
