Spotlight on Learning -Waratah 1 & 2

Waratah 1 and Waratah 2 have begun Term 2 with a focus on developing their skills in understanding and creating informative texts. They have been analysing rubrics to guide their learning, helping them to clearly understand the criteria for success and how to elevate their own work.
Students have also been engaging in fun activities to expand their vocabulary and working on creative ways to use new words in practical contexts.
Waratah 1 and Waratah 2 explored the significance of ANZAC Day by creating short digital slide presentations. They included key facts, images, and reflections, demonstrating their understanding of remembrance, courage, and sacrifice, including events such as the Gallipoli Campaign. It was fantastic to see their thoughtful work and strong engagement with this important learning.

In addition to their academic efforts, students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the recent Cross Country Carnival, demonstrating great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. They also enjoyed an engaging presentation by Willoughby Wildlife for the upcoming storybook competition.
It’s been a busy and productive start to Term 2 for our Year 5 students, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth both in and out of the classroom as the year progresses.
