2026 CPS Cross Country Carnival

Last Thursday, our annual Cross Country Carnival was held at Artarmon Reserve. The event was a great success, with students demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and house spirit throughout the day. It was wonderful to see everyone supporting each other and striving to reach their personal best.

Thank you to the dedicated staff who organised and coordinated the event. Your hard work made the day run smoothly and ensured a positive experience for everyone.

Congratulations to all participants, and a special mention to those who have qualified to represent CPS at the Ku-Ring-Gai Zone Cross Country Carnival on Tuesday, 12 May. We wish you the very best as you compete at the next level.

2026 Premier’s Spelling Bee

Gallery Image

We are pleased to announce that Chatswood students will once again have the chance to participate in the NSW Premier's Spelling Bee. This event is a fun way for NSW public primary school students to grow their vocabularies and improve their spelling.

The Spelling Bee has two categories:

  • Junior Spelling Bee - Years 3 and 4 (Stage 2)
  • Senior Spelling Bee - Years 5 and 6 (Stage 3)

Round Details and Selection of School Finalists

All students from Year 3 to Year 6 will have the opportunity to participate in the Class Round (Round 1) during Week 6. The ten students from each of Stage 2 and Stage 3 who spell the most words correctly in the Class Round will then be selected to participate in the School Round (Round 2).

After the school round, two students (one each from Stage 2 and Stage 3) will have the opportunity to represent the school at the Regional Finals. This exciting online event will take place in early Term 3 (August).

Word Lists

Words for both rounds will be selected from the official Spelling Bee word lists. These lists and the password that opens the files have already been shared with students. Please note: The password must not be shared publicly

More information and the word lists can be found at the Premier’s Spelling Bee website.

We wish all of our students the best of luck!
