Religious Education News

Dear Families,
As we approach the season of Lent next week, I wanted to take a moment to share with you that our staff have been working collaboratively to plan meaningful lessons for Lent and Easter. Religion, like any other subject, is an important discipline, and as part of our professional learning, we held a session to deepen our understanding and engage in thoughtful planning for the season ahead.
During the meeting, we explored the significance of Lent, including its associated symbols such as the ashes, the purple liturgical colour, the cross, and the crown of thorns. Each of these symbols holds deep meaning, representing repentance, sacrifice, and preparation for the resurrection of Christ.
We also unpacked the three core pillars of Lent: prayer, making promises, and acts of kindness, which will form the foundation of our lessons as we guide students through a reflective and enriching Lenten journey.
At school, we engage in daily prayer practices, which will continue throughout Lent. As part of this season, students will be making promises to deepen their prayer lives and commit to acts of kindness.
We will be supporting Caritas Australia's Project Compassion, and more details will follow as we work together to make a difference in the lives of others.
We look forward to sharing these experiences with your children, helping them understand and embrace the true spirit of this sacred season.
Through prayer, reflection, and service, we aim to foster meaningful connections and spiritual growth in our students as we prepare for Easter.
