Message from the Principal

Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,

Once again, it was lovely to have so many visitors at assembly on Monday and to present the Year 3-5 JSC representatives with their badges.

These students are:

Year 3 - Julian W, Freddy W, Keira T, Andrea D

Year 4 - Maeve R, Eliza N, Julian T, Layla M

Year 5 - Taya H, Yash R, Guang-Zi L, Oliver M

It was also wonderful to have the 2025 Preps attend assembly for their very first time. As a cohort, they did an incredible job. It was terrific to finally have our whole school community together.

Rare Disease Day

Whilst there are multiple days observed throughout the school calendar, and it isn’t possible to acknowledge all of them, there are some that we try and highlight. Rare Disease Day is one such day. Last Friday, 28th February was Rare Disease Day, a worldwide day dedicated to rare diseases. It strives to create equality within communities, social situations and healthcare for those suffering with a rare disease. A big ‘shout out’ to all families who have a family member with a rare disease, and I hope that you feel part of the EEPS community.

School Council

Thank you to the parents who have nominated to be on School Council for 2025. We still have one vacancy for a Community Member, which is for one year, rather than two. It is very similar in role to the ordinary members. Please let me know if this is of interest to you.

New Playground Space

Last week it was wonderful to complete another school improvement project. The Level 2 alcove area has been completely transformed from a dry, dusty nook to a colourful and inviting small play space. This project has been partially funded through the generous parent donation efforts throughout last year. We have other projects in the pipeline so please keep an eye out for further developments.

Movie Night and Bake Sale

The famous EEPS Movie Night is coming up in a few weeks, Friday 21st March. Please remember to book your tickets through Compass. Thank you to the parents who have offered prizes for the raffle. Please keep these coming into the office and look out for a separate Newsfeed about an additional Bake Sale on the night as well. Thank you to the EEPS community for support of the annual event highlight.

JSC Fundraiser

The EEPS Junior School Council are always very supportive of our school improvement initiatives and also always come up with very worthy causes to support in the community. Normally once a term the JSC have a fundraiser to raise funds for others. This term they have decided to raise money for State Schools Relief, with a ‘Bright Futures Day’- by dressing up as something you want to be when you grow up. Children are asked to bring a gold coin donation to dress up and support this cause. This term the day will be Wednesday 26th March. Further information will be provided.

Good luck to our Year 5 campers who headed off this morning. I will have the opportunity to join them Thursday evening into Friday. A massive thank you to the teachers who are attending and to Mr Gourzelas for all the preparation that has gone into it.

Lastly, don’t forget that next Monday, 10th March is a Public Holiday

Have a great week of Learning and Growing Together.

Kind regards

Warren Lloyd
