Specialist Classes

Swimming - Students and staff across Monash SDS are thrilled to have swimming back up and running this term, and it’s been fantastic to see the positive impact swimming has on students. Over the last few weeks, pupils have been developing water safety skills, swimming technique, confidence in the water, and most importantly, having fun! Swimming provides a unique opportunity for students to build physical strength, improve coordination, and foster social skills through teamwork and support. We look forward to seeing continued growth and enjoyment as our students progress over the term.

Sport - This year in the senior section for P.E we have an interschool sports program starting up which will happen twice a term on Fridays with our friends at Croydon SDS.

In term one students from Monash SDS will play Cricket matches against Croydon SDS next term will look at playing soccer.

Well, done to Callum and Khushali who were Monash SDS star batters and to Jaysonjit and Abel who were Monash SDS star bowlers.

This program is not only be great for the students to advance their sporting skills, it also allows students to have positive social interactions with students from another local SDS school.

Performing Arts - In the junior years, the students have been exploring the space in the Performing Arts room. They have enjoyed learning interactive games and songs and have explored movements and drama. The middle years students have been exploring different emotions through drama and have enjoyed using a range of masks and props for musical performances. In the senior school, the students are learning to listen to each other perform songs and practising performing in front of their peers. It has been a great start to the year!

Music- This Term, our music program is embracing the theme "All About Me” encouraging students to explore and celebrate their individuality through music.

The dynamic and creative environment gives students the freedom to express themselves authentically - showcasing their unique talents and cultural backgrounds

Students have enjoyed exploring their musical preferences and sharing these with others.
