Group 3 

Group 3 are thrilled to welcome our new families who have joined the Monash community this year. We also welcomed back some students into their new classroom environment. It has been a wonderful start to the term, and we’re excited to share some of the activities and highlights that are helping all our students settle into school life.

This term, our theme is "All About Me". Students are learning about their likes and dislikes through a variety of activities. They are working on identifying themselves and learning about parts of the body. A big part of this term is focusing on developing social skills, particularly through greeting others. Students are practicing saying "hello", making eye contact, and high fiving others throughout the school day.

It has been amazing to see every student communicating in their own unique way which has allowed them to feel confident in their learning. This term, we’re focusing on helping students develop and express their needs and wants in a variety of ways. In class, students have been working on following their schedules, developing their independence, building relationships and engaging with various activities. We were also excited to explore our new sensory room, which has quickly become a favourite space for everyone.

We are looking forward to the exciting year ahead.
