Principal's Report

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” – John Dewey

It has been a vibrant and engaging week at our school, filled with exciting opportunities and valuable insights. From capturing the spirit of our students on camera to supporting families with post-school pathways, we continue to celebrate the wonderful energy and commitment of our school community.

This week, we had MAPS photographers and videographers onsite all-day Wednesday, capturing incredible photos and video footage of our students. The children were more than happy to oblige, with happy, smiling, and engaged faces on display throughout the day. This footage will be used to update our website and create a promotional video for our recruitment drive to attract more staff to our amazing school. Watch this space!

We also had a very successful Post-School Options Night last night, which was well attended by our senior secondary families. Twelve adult education and training providers attended and presented their programs, offering valuable insights into future pathways for our students. Thank you to all the families who came along to explore these opportunities.

Additionally, we recently conducted a survey on late arrivals and early departures. The key findings indicate that traffic and transportation issues are the most common reasons for students arriving late, along with morning routines taking longer than expected and difficulties with waking up. For early departures, therapy appointments and medical reasons were the main factors. Families have suggested improvements such as better parking, clearer communication about early drop-off options, and increased flexibility in start times. We appreciate the feedback and will continue to explore ways to support families in ensuring students can attend school on time and stay for the full day.

Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement with our school community. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
