Maths Intervention at Bendigo Primary School is taught by Kim Kirkpatrick and consists of two main programs.

EMU, or Extending Maths Understanding is a research-based intervention program designed to improve students' knowledge and confidence in mathematics. Its is particularly designed for students having difficulty understanding whole number concepts in Foundation to Grade 3. Students are offered alternative approaches that give them a mathematical boost.

The program is coordinated with the mathematics program in the the classroom and consists of students attending small group sessions (3 per week) . Students also have any extra session where the Intervention teacher supports the student in the classroom.

The tutoring program is for students needing support in Mathematics Grades 3-6, as identified by teachers or assessment results.. Students are supported in class on their regular program and may be withdrawn for small group, targeted sessions too.
