Celebrating Our Outstanding Student Leaders

At Berwick Chase, we are incredibly proud of our student leaders and the strong, positive influence they have on our school community. Watching our four school captains confidently step forward at assembly, raise their arms, and instantly bring a room full of students, parents and staff to silence is truly remarkable. However, this level of leadership doesn’t happen overnight—it is cultivated over years of guidance, role modelling, and commitment to our school values.

The journey begins in Prep, when our youngest students look up to their school leaders as role models. Over time, they learn that leadership is not about holding a title but about consistently making the right choices, upholding our school values, and setting high standards for behaviour. Our student leaders play a crucial role in shaping the culture of our school, demonstrating respect, responsibility, resilience, and creativity in all they do.

This strong leadership culture was on full display during our recent Grade Six Urban Camp. The exemplary behaviour of our students was noticed and praised by staff at the various venues they visited, reflecting the positive impact of our leadership development over the years. These moments reaffirm why Berwick Chase is held in such high regard within the community.

I am immensely proud of our school captains and all our student leaders. More importantly, I am proud of the culture we have built—one that fosters respect, responsibility, and a deep sense of pride in our school. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for supporting this important journey.

Once a Chaser, Always a Chaser.

Warm regards,

Chris Short

Principal
