Digital Technology

During this last week the Digital Technologies classes have focussed on safety and well being when online.

Foundation students have described what they understand the internet is and how it is used. They have also been introduced to the stand alone computers in the DT lab and many can now turn the computers on and log in onto the school network.

We continue to work on keyboarding skills.

Levels 1, 2 and 3 student lessons have been about emotional well being online and gaining an understanding of their emotions and how they affect behaviour while online. The activities in the Digii Social program have highlighted these behaviours and give students tools with which to recognise and control these emotions.

Level 4 students have now been introduced to the Upper School version of Digii Social which is an AI controlled social media style platform that the year 5 and 6 students used last year.

Levels 4, 5 and 6 students have spent the week exploring the challenges and tutorials on the Digii Social program which will form a regular part of their DT sessions.
