Term 3, Week 9
Dear Parents and Carers,
Congratulations to Mrs Julia Pungiatore and her husband Brandon on the safe arrival of their son Logan, born on 10th of September. We wish them all the best as they embark on the wonderful life of parenthood.
Feast day is always a highlight celebration at Our Lady’s. We commenced the day with a whole school liturgy acknowledging Mary and all her special qualities. This year we have introduced our Feast Day Awards. We recognised 7 students who show the values of Mary. This will become an annual award where we can acknowledge students who demonstrate the qualities of Mary of love, honesty, thankfulness, responsibility, compassion, integrity and leadership.
We congratulate:
Prep - LOVE - Caoimhe Anderson
Year 1 - HONESTY - Apollo Robotis
Year 2 - THANKFULNESS - Lennox Nanai
Year 3 - RESPONSIBILITY - Amaira Barot
Year 4 - COMPASSION - Mariam Toma
Year 5 - INTEGRITY - Armanita Sako
Year 6 - LEADERSHIP - Cruz Robotis
Our students were entertained from start to finish with a range of fun activities that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The disco got everyone moving and busting some moves (including our teachers), the magician show left students and teachers in awe, a creative Mary art activity and the challenge of the obstacle course. Let’s not forget about the sausage sizzle! With over 1,500 sausages cooked and served, it was an incredible effort from our chefs Mr Cliff, Mr Danny and Ms Ale starting the cooking at 6am. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a memorable celebration. A special thank you to our Year 6 Leaders for their outstanding efforts during our celebration. Throughout the day, they demonstrated remarkable leadership skills, guiding our younger students, helping organize activities, and ensuring that everyone was engaged and having fun.
On Thursday, we came together to acknowledge R U OK? Day, a significant day dedicated to checking in with one another. Throughout the day, our students participated in activities and discussions that highlighted the importance of asking, “Are you OK?” and truly listening to those around us. The message of R U OK? Day goes beyond just one day of the year. It's a reminder to continue reaching out, supporting each other, and staying connected. Whether it's a friend, family member, colleague, or classmate, checking in can make a world of difference. We encourage everyone in our school community to keep the spirit of R U OK? Day alive by fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Let’s continue to be there for one another, not just on special days, but every day.
Parent School Advisory Council: Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 17th September, commencing at 7.00pm. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please email Linda Glouftsis: lglouftsis@olps.vic.edu.au

Not Returning to Our Lady's in 2025- It is that time of year again when we are beginning to plan for 2025. If you are not intending to return in 2025 could you please let me know by email principal@olps.vic.edu.au. All we require is the name of your school for 2025 so we can send the relevant transfer documents.
