PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Looking back...

As I look back over the last 10 weeks I feel proud of our students and staff for their ability to try new things, to be involved and to live out our school motto of "to have life and have it to the full."  Our Term 3 calendar was jam-packed with a wide range of extracurricular activities to engage our students and help develop them into lifelong learners. From the classroom to sport, the Book Week parade, to the UNE Science Week program, Mini Olympics, First Communion, Christian Living Days, EKKA, Public Speaking, NAIDOC week, local community events and great excursions just to name some! Amongst all of this, our students and staff continued their work in the classroom to a high standard. This was on display last Thursday and Friday when we hosted internationally renowned educational thought leader Dr Lyn Sharratt and 60 leaders from our Armidale Diocesan schools. They took the opportunity to visit our classrooms across the school and our students impressed with their ability to explain what they were learning and why and how they were going with it. It was an impressive experience and one that made me feel extremely proud of our students and staff. I believe everyone deserves a relaxing holiday after this fast-paced, busy and productive term.

Looking forward

Next term will start with a bang with our Mega Raffle and Race Day happening in Week 1. Please sell your tickets and return the books and money by Thursday in Week 1. The prizes are so fantastic - the motorbike in the Front Foyer has attracted a lot of attention and it is only the second prize!

I would like to wish Mr Smith well as he starts his parental leave in Term 4. Mr Smith has been a great support to me in his role as Assistant Principal and he will be missed. Mrs Cath Koch will be fulfilling the AP Primary role to begin Term 4 and then we will await the outcome of the application and interview process.
