Purpose, Vision and School Values

Purpose Statement

Norwood Secondary College provides a vibrant teaching and learning environment that supports enjoyment and excellence in living, learning and working.

Vision Statement

Norwood Secondary College was established in 1958 and is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Mullum Mullum Creek.

Our bonds with the community are a source of mutual strength and inspiration as our College gains a great deal from its links and involvement with community programs and activities. The contributions of parents/carers and friends are valued and encouraged across all aspects of our learning community.

Norwood Secondary College is committed to providing our students with an environment that is both inspiring and nurturing. The College has a proud tradition of ensuring our students are provided with an excellent education experience and opportunities to grow intellectually, socially and ethically. It is our belief that our students will benefit from exposure to a broad range of learning experiences, in and out of the classroom, and our programs are developed with this as a core goal. Our students leave the college equipped with the skills and self-belief to continue to learn as their lives progress. They also understand the importance of seeking to be the best they can be in all their endeavours.

Our Values

  • RESPECT - All members of our community are expected to respect the College, others and themselves
  • ASPIRATION - Students are encouraged to be the best they can be, in all endeavours
  • RESPONSIBILITY - All members of our community are expected to take responsibility for their actions
  • RESILIENCE - All members of the College are supported in the development of a strong sense of worth to overcome adversity
