Art News
We have welcomed Mrs Austin to the Art room for the last few weeks of Term 3, whilst Miss Peldys teaches the delightful Grade 2A during Miss Skrobalak’s leave.
Our students have enjoyed completing their final pieces of artwork for the term and are coming home with some of their finished creations to show off with pride.
We thank our students for their willingness to embrace the various learning tasks we have explored throughout Term 3 and are extremely proud of all of their efforts. You only have to take a walk through the corridors of the school, to see the positive impact their creativity has on our walls and on our hearts.
This term students have enjoyed exploring the styles of Vincent van Goh, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso along with various mediums including drawing, collage, portrait sketching and painting.
A consistent highlight throughout the term have been the numerous gallery walks students have completed during their Art lessons, where they pause working on their own designs, to take time to walk around and observe the works of their peers. Gallery walks provide our students with many positives, including a supportive way of sharing ideas, the opportunity to experience and respond to other’s work and the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills.
We hope that everyone has a restful break, and we look forward to welcoming you all back for what is set to be an exciting Term 4!
Take care,
Mrs S, Miss Peldys and Mrs Austin.
