From the Principal

Week 4 Term 1 2024

Dear Parents and Carers

Commitment masses for First Communion

This weekend is the commitment masses for First Eucharist.  Just a reminder that all students who will be celebrating this sacrament for the first time are expected to attend.

Yr 5/6 Camp

Next Monday our Yr 5/6 students will be attending the  Burnside camp in Anglesea.

We wish them a wonderful camp.  Thank you to the staff who are attending. It is a big commitment, but one that is appreciated by students and parents.

Just a reminder to all parents to ensure all medical forms are filled out prior to Monday morning.

After school basketball.

Last year St Bede's entered two teams in the  Primary School Basketball competition, run by the Bulleen Boomers BC. After undergoing a review the Bulleen Boomers has looked into how they can improve and sustain this long-standing competition, and there have been some ‘behind the scenes’ changes.

Starting in February, the competition will now be known as BTBC Junior Community League. The BTBC Junior Community League will continue to evolve, adapt and improve, and families can enrol as they have previously done in the past.  One of the changes has been a change to the naming of teams. During the  year catholic schools will transfer from using their school name to a new name.  Children from our school will now play for the Marwal Magic.

Communication from Admin and teachers

All existing and new families should now be on the appropriate email lists.  If you feel you are not receiving communication from either the office or teachers please contact the office.

Sometimes your email address has been added but it isn't working.  We then need to remove your email address and  re add it to the list, ( not sure why we have to do it but it works!!!)

Arriving on time

I want to stress the importance of being at school on time. Children need to be in their classroom ready to commence at 8.45am.  When children arrive late it can be disruptive to the class as well as their own learning. Lets aim for no late arrivals next week.

Running Club

Running club commences on Friday the 1st March. Please meet Mr Price, Mr McFarlane or myself at  Myrtle Park at 8.00am  Just a reminder if your child is in Prep, Yr 1 or Yr 2 a parent is required to stay for the whole duration.

Have a great week

Brian
