Enrichment Program Highlights

Dance

Year 8 Dance students have been developing their skills in the art of Reggaeton choreography. As students continue learning a dance to Despacito in preparation for their final whole-class dance performance Week 9, a strong focus has been placed on flexibility training. Reggaeton dance originated in 1990s Puerto Rico and is a fusion of Latin American, Afro-Cuban and Hip-Hop genres of music and dance. The up-beat fast tempo and fast foot work makes this style of dance engaging and fun and exposes students to global trends in dance styles. Overall, students have shown courage and aspiration each week and have developed skills in performing body isolations, hip rotations and group work. Exceptional effort!
