Weekends in Mac House 

Macdonald (or Mac) House was a flurry of excitement this past weekend. It was wonderful to see so many of our junior girls enjoying company together. Many of our girls have brotherly siblings and being together on a weekend makes for a close connection of sisterhood. Additionally, it was a nice weekend for our girls to see, watch and learn the art of getting dressed up for a formal dinner dance event. With hair braiding, movie-watching, canvas painting, and outdoor activities, the girls had a jam-packed weekend together.

Boarding parent Zoom meeting. 

 Each term we host a Boarding Parents Zoom meeting for our boarding community. This week, around 20 families from all over Victoria and interstate attended the meeting. It was wonderful to share information regarding all our year levels and also to hear ideas and suggestions from our parent community. 

We had in attendance Michael Horne (Principal), Kristen Waldron (Deputy Principal – well-being), Anna Robertson (Director of Learning and Teaching), Helen Reiher (Head of Senior Years),  Ben Hawthorne (Head of Middle Years), and Lise Lowe (Houseparent).

Up and coming events: 

• Wimmera Field Days - we will be in the Moore Exhibition Centre at the Wimmera Fields Days on 5-7 March. 
• Exeat weekend - the Boarding House will close from 5pm on Friday, 8 March and re-open at 3:30 pm Monday, 11 March. The Naracoorte bus will operate as normal on Friday and return students on Monday, 11 March, at the standard times. 
• Katnook Estate Parent Drinks – on Thursday, 14 March. Always a highlight of the annual calendar!
• Lucindale Field Days – We will be in the Yakka Pavillion at the Lucindale Fields on 15/16 March.
