2024 Dinner Dance - Summer Soiree

I am thrilled to share with you the highlights of our recent annual Dinner Dance, which took place last Saturday night. It was a truly special evening filled with delicious food, stunning decorations, and memorable moments for our students.

First and foremost, we extend our gratitude to our Boarding Chef, Josh Donnely and his team for a delicious two-course meal. The Year 9 wait team were excellent and demonstrated enormous professionalism in serving and clearing 180 meals!

Under the enchanting theme of "Summer Soiree," the Tim Murray Room was transformed into a scene of beauty and elegance. Our Year 10-12 students looked absolutely stunning, and witnessing their excitement and joy was truly a highlight. The heart of the event, undoubtedly, was the dance floor in the Simons Auditorium, with many students dancing nonstop for two hours.

But the preparations leading up to the event were just as meaningful as the evening itself. From hair and makeup sessions to capturing those perfect photos, every moment contributed to the overall experience.

Beyond the glamour, the Dinner Dance provided invaluable learning opportunities. Students had the chance to practice the etiquette of a formal dinner, navigate the challenges of walking in heels, and most importantly, understand the importance of inclusion and acceptance. These lessons extend far beyond the dance floor and into their everyday lives.

The event was a culmination of years of growth and development for our senior students. Through their involvement in planning and executing the evening, they honed skills such as budgeting, negotiation, teamwork, and time management. Their exemplary conduct on the night itself was a testament to their leadership and maturity.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Miss Helen Reiher for her outstanding oversight of the entire event and to our dedicated student leadership team and supportive parents. Special recognition goes to our Year 12 students, whose contributions were instrumental in making the night a resounding success.

As we reflect on the magic of the Dinner Dance, we're reminded of the power of community, celebration, and growth. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible.
