New - Subway Lunch Order Change

Subway Orders will be delivered Thursday 22nd due to Pupil Free Day on Friday 23rd. Please make orders online via CDFpay before 3.30pm today or take orders directly to Subway Mooroopna before 8pm tonight.

New - School Uniform Reminder

Just a reminder that students are required to have a hat for all outdoor play and activities in terms 1 & 4.

Sports uniform is to be worn for students PE day and all students are required to wear black basketball shorts, bike shorts are not school uniform.

New - Gr 3/4 Explore 2D & 3D shapes

Gr 3/4s have been learning about the geometric properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Yesterday we matched 'nets' to 3D shapes then assembled them. Today we had a go at making our chosen 3D shape with mini marshmallows and toothpicks. Then we labelled the edges, vertices and faces. 

The added bonus was eating the marshmallows when we were done! Yum!

 

 

New - Maths in Prep

The preps yesterday learnt about Subitising with our ladybird charts for maths!

Subitising is the ability to look at a small set of objects and instantly know how many there are without counting them. For example, when rolling a dice we don't need to count the dots to know what we have rolled.

Students are invited to come with a crazy hairstyle on Thursday 29th February and help to support & raise funds for Caritas. 

 

Please bring along a gold coin donation.

New - Gr 6 Social Justice / Minnie Vinnies Team

The Grade Six Social Justice/ Mini Vinnie's Team attended an online meeting with Rob from Mini Vinnie's in Melbourne this afternoon! The meeting was organised to introduce our team to the concept of Mini Vinnie's, to the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and to the problems of homelessness in Victoria. 

Over 30,000 people experience homelessness or rooflessness each night in our state, many of them under the age of 18.

An interactive online meeting was an exciting experience for this group of students, who interacted well with Rob.

New - 5/6 Maths Focus

Our Grade 5/6’s have been focusing on identify factors, multiples and also ordering numbers.

New - National Apology Day Breakfast

Some of our Indigenous students from Gr 3/4 attended the breakfast at the Queens Gardens in Shepparton last Tuesday. They enjoyed listening to various speakers about the importance of the speech made by Kevin Rudd 16 years ago. They reminded us of the importance of truth telling and working towards reconciliation.

 

New - Project Compassion Launch

Our annual fundraising efforts for Caritas began on Ash Wednesday and the Grade Six Social Justice Team launched our Caritas Appeal at Assembly this week. 

They are aiming to raise $1,000 for Caritas!

New - Shrove Tuesday

Our Preps enjoyed Shrove Tuesday activities, cooking preparations and pancakes.

New - Gr 1/2 Thrass & Spelling

Our Grade 1/2’s Have been working hard on their THRASS and Spelling activities. Well done everyone.

New - Prep Welcome Liturgy

Reminder -  Subway Lunch Orders

 

Subway orders are due each Thursday for delivery Fridays.  Paper order forms can be placed in the classroom Subway Tub OR orders can be made online via CDFpay. Scan the QR code beside and register your details if you havent already done so, and use the Subway menu to place an order.

 

 

 

Reminder - After School Program

A couple of spots still available.

After school program is Government funded Program run by St. Mary’s School through Sporting Schools Program. The program runs for 1 hour after school. The children are provided with a drink and fruit. The program will be offered for 7 weeks.

Each session starts at 3.45pm and finishes at 4.45 p.m. The program is supervised at all times and an outside person runs the program. Each session can only take 25 children. 

This term we are offering the following: 

Multi Games with Skillzone Multi Sports Coaching, with the aim of this program being to have fun, learn new games and be happy. This will be held in the Marian Centre or Oval depending on the weather. 

WEDNESDAYS - starting Wednesday 14th February for 7 WEEKS, finishing on 20th March.

THURSDAYS - starting Thursday 15th February for 7 WEEKS, finishing on 21st March.

 

The children will meet Maree outside the Marian Centre straight after school and have fruit and a drink.
