We ask all Year 4 and Year 6 parents to please make sure your child/rens Operoo profile is up to date with emergency contact details, dietary requirements, allergies, medical conditions such as sleep walking, travel sickness and other information that may be required while they're away on camp

The Operoo permission forms for each of the camps will be sent in the second week of Term 1. When you receive it next week, please fill it in with as many details as possible including their child/ren's dietary requirements and prepare your child/ren for these experiences. Also we ask parents to think about organising Medical Authority Forms and Medical Management plans for these camps if your child/ren require them as outlined below.

Administration of Medication for Camps:

St Simon the Apostle is part of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Management system and is implementing system wide policies involving the management of school medical information and distribution of medicines.

If a parent requires a school staff member to administer medication to a student, the parent\carer will need to complete a Medication Authority Form and, in some cases, will require a Medical Management Plan.

The Medical Management Plan and \ or Medication Authority Form must include complete information for the school staff member to be able to action the administration of medicine.

A Medication Authority Form must be completed and signed off by an AHPRA registered health practitioner for any short-term medication required while attending camp.

A Medication Authority Form must be completed and signed off by an AHPRA registered health practitioner for any over-the-counter medication during camp, including hay fever tablets, eyedrops, eczema cream, nasal sprays and travel sickness medication.

A Medical Management Plan and Medication Authority Form are required if medication is to be administered as part of a medical condition.

Please return all Medical Management Plans and Medication Authority Forms with your child’s medication of the camp early before the camp so we can process the forms on our school database for the camp.

On the morning of the camp departure, there will be a medication drop-off area where the medication product will be matched with the submitted Medical Authority Form and\or Medical Management Plan.
