House Performing Arts Reminder

We are so excited that our House Performing Arts Day is next week! This is one of the highlights of our College calendar, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of our students. We look forward to seeing many of our parents join us for this exciting event!

House Performing Arts Day is taking place on Wednesday, the 17th of September. We invite all of our parents and guardians from Primary Years to join us for the performances from 11:15 am - 1:15 pm (Sessions 3 and 4) in the Gym.

Access to the gym will be through the double doors in the gym car park ONLY. The doors will open to parents from 11:10am.

Please note, in accordance with our child safety standards, no adults are permitted in the school yard during recess and lunch times.

Additionally, for the safety and privacy of our students, we kindly remind everyone not to post any photos or videos of students other than their own on social media.

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee

Hazel Glen College is proud to have taken part in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee this year. Our students put their best efforts forward, showing off their spelling skills, focus, and determination. The competition was a fantastic opportunity for them to challenge themselves and celebrate a love of words.

We are thrilled to share that Hamish from Year 3 has made it through to the next round. Congratulations to Hamish and to all our students who represented Hazel Glen College so wonderfully!

Thanks to Ms Davies for coordinating our students' participation in this competition.

Prep Bags 2025 Survey

Each year, the Department of Education gives every Prep student attending a Victorian government school a bag full of goodies to celebrate this milestone in their education journey. The educational resources and information in the bags are aimed at helping Prep students and their families have a great start to the year.

The department is inviting parents and carers of current Prep students to complete a short survey about the 2025 Prep bags by 11:59 pm on Sunday, 26 October 2025. Your feedback will help the department learn what families liked and what can be improved in 2026. You can have your say at Prep Bags 2025 Evaluation Survey.

The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes. It is voluntary. Responses are anonymous and will not be shared with third parties outside the department. For more information about this year’s Prep bags, refer to Prep Bags.

Hats and Sun Safety

In Term 4, all students will be required to wear a hat outside when playing and participating in PE and Sports.  In the Primary Years, students are required to wear the College bucket hat. If students forget their hats on any day, they must play in a shaded area to ensure they are protected from the sun.

Caps that were previously worn in Middle School are not acceptable, and students who wear them will be asked to take them off and move to a shaded area.

Over the holidays, please check that your child has a bucket hat ready for next term. If you need a new hat for your child, please visit our uniform provider PSW in South Morang or order online. Bucket hats can also be purchased from the main College office for $17.95 if required.
