From the Principal Leader

Dear staff, students, parents and carers,
COLLEGE ASSEMBLY
The last two weeks have been wonderful here at Chisholm where there is so much happening. At our recent Creative Arts assembly we witnessed the outstanding talents of our students across all year groups 7-12. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the performances from Stage 5 Drama and Dance students who demonstrated their courageous spirit to the whole college community. I challenged the students and staff to consider the environment and how we can keep it clean, calm and respectful at all times. I have encouraged everyone to be more attentive to the cleanliness and tidiness of the college both inside classroom spaces and outside in the yard, playing courts and oval areas. The students have responded to this very well and I have noticed a definite improvement in classrooms, the outside areas and the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I am pleased and proud that our Chisholm girls and staff have responded to this reminder and request so positively showing a true love for your community. Well done everyone! Let’s continue to work on doing the best that we can for our community environment showing care, love and respect for each other and our stunning spaces here at Chisholm at all times. Let’s be clean and green @Chisholm.
YEAR 10 EXAMS
Congratulations to Year 10 for your commitment and dedication to learning with your recent exams that you embraced, preparing diligently and giving your best effort! Well done Year 10 - we are all very proud of you and hope that over the coming weeks you are able to work through your subject selections for Year 11 and 12 with the support of your teachers, family and friends. This is an incredibly exciting time for you as you decide on your future with your passions and interests at the forefront. Good luck as you work through this to achieve the best possible subjects that you love for the HSC. A reminder also that we have academic scholarships on offer this year and I encourage all students to apply in the coming weeks. I am very encouraged having received a few applications already and look forward to receiving many more applications during the next few weeks. Best wishes to everyone who is applying for this scholarship which is a wonderful opportunity to excel.
BUILDING WORKS
We have some exciting building works that will commence towards the end of the year replacing the West Wing. This new 2 storey building will have lots of classrooms supported with the latest technology and resources. As a result, the West Wing will be moved near the basketball courts over the school holidays in preparation for the new building to commence towards the end of 2025. At the same time the TAS Bathrooms will be fully refurbished as well. As you can see there are many changes coming as we are a growing school with a vastly growing enrollment. Thank you for your patience and cooperation in advance for these exciting projects at Chisholm. I shared these exciting building plans at our Parents as Partners meeting and received resoundingly positive feedback about the need to build learning spaces that effectively meet the learning and wellbeing needs of our girls. As well as this, we will be developing a Wellbeing Space for students and staff where our Counsellors and Wellbeing staff can be located together to support our whole school community. I am very pleased that we will be able to resource the college substantially through these building works in 2026. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing feedback that has greatly assisted us in developing these building plans to help us with our growing enrolments and meet the needs of our Chisholm girls both today and in the future.
As I will be on leave during weeks 9 and 10 of this term, I would like to wish everyone a great end to the term and a wonderful holiday break. I look forward to reconnecting with you at the start of Term 3.
Stay safe everyone - May God's infinite blessing be with you always.
