Upcoming Assessment Notices:
Students in Year 7 recently submitted their first History assessment task and created artefact masterpieces. Students have been studying ancient civilisations across the Mediterranean region. From hand-crafted Egyptian sarcophagi, to Roman shields and Grecian pottery, our talented Year 7 historians highlighted their creative skills in their artefact recreations.
Our HSIE Department also made history with the launch of our very first Year 7 History Artefact Museum! Parents, staff, and students took a time-traveling tour through the ancient worlds of Egypt, Rome, and Greece — all without leaving the school grounds. Check out our school’s Facebook for an insight into this magical evening.
Huge congratulations to all students and the HSIE staff for an un-ruin-gettable experience!
Our Year 9 Psychology elective class has spent the term learning about ethical research methods in modern psychology practices. In Week 8, students were fortunate enough to interview a psychologist to gain insight into their workload and career. Students will be busy applying their newly equipped skills to conduct a research experiment for their upcoming assessment task next term.
Camden High’s Legal Eagles Crack the Case!
It was a typical Friday at Camden High School—until our 17 dedicated Year 12 Legal Studies students received some shocking news: Mrs Woods had gone missing.
The last known sighting placed her in E Block. Without hesitation, our sharp-minded students, currently studying the Crime unit, leapt into action. Armed with notebooks and pens, they rushed to the scene—only to discover that Mrs Woods (who bore an uncanny resemblance to Spiderman) had been murdered.
Drawing on their knowledge of the criminal investigation process and police powers, students assumed the roles of police officers, detectives, and forensic specialists. They quickly established a crime scene, photographed evidence, tagged and collected items of interest, reviewed CCTV footage, questioned witnesses, and ultimately made an arrest.
Thanks to their sharp investigative skills, justice was served. Their conclusion? Mrs Middleton was the culprit!
Congratulations to our Year 12 students on applying their classroom knowledge to crack the case and bring the offender to justice. Excellent work on bringing the Crime topic to life!
Year 12 Trial Examinations
The HSIE faculty would like to wish Year 12 students all the best for their current Trial Examinations. We hope all our Legal, Modern, Ancient and Business Students have prepared themselves well and feel confident! Make sure you have taken all the opportunities provided by your teachers and utilise all the revision resources from the last few lessons. Ensure you have a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast before your exam – don’t be late, arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your exam, Goodluck!
