Mathematics News

Hello Mathematicians,
As we approach the end of Term 2, it’s a great time to reflect on the progress made so far and to start planning for a smooth start to Term 3. The upcoming holiday break provides an ideal opportunity for students to reset, recharge, and ensure they are fully prepared for the term ahead.
A key part of this preparation is making sure that all necessary equipment is ready to go. We ask families to use the holidays to check that students have a well-stocked pencil case and all essential supplies, including a scientific calculator, pens, pencils, rulers, glue sticks, and workbooks. A scientific calculator remains a critical tool for Mathematics and can be purchased from the school office if needed.
Coming to class prepared helps maximise learning time and minimises disruptions. Teachers will always do their best to support students, but spare equipment is limited! Packing school bags, the night before and taking time over the break to organise materials can make a real difference.
We appreciate your continued support in building strong learning routines and encouraging student responsibility. If you have any concerns or need assistance with supplies, please reach out to your child’s Year Advisor.
Let’s finish the term strong and head into Term 3 ready to succeed!
Term 3 Assessment Tasks
As we move into Term 3, it’s important for students to stay focused and proactive, especially with upcoming Mathematics formal assessments on the horizon. Staying on top of the assessment schedule and planning will help reduce stress and allow for meaningful, effective revision.
✅ Revision materials will continue to be provided in class, with extra support and resources available anytime on CANVAS.
✅ If a student misses a lesson—particularly during key revision periods—it is their responsibility to catch up on the content outside of class.
✅ By staying organised, starting early, and making use of available resources, students can approach assessments with greater confidence and success!
✅ Bringing a scientific calculator to every lesson and assessment is essential! It was noted across all year groups this term that many students did not bring a calculator into their examinations. There is no guarantee that you will be able to borrow one.
