As we conclude Term 2, it’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the year. Our Year 9 students and staff departed for camp on Tuesday, and by the time this newsletter is published, they should be safely home—likely exhausted but fulfilled after a full and enriching program. A sincere thank you to all parents and carers for helping your children prepare for the week, and a special thank you to Mr Nic Roberts, our Camp Coordinator, for his tireless hours of planning and organisation. I am truly grateful to the dedicated staff who attended the camp: Miss Anderson, Mr Cheney, Mr Hay, Ms Paulin, Mr Levy, Mr Lewis, Ms Lim, Mr Mason, Ms Rigg, Mrs Rogers, Mr Sligar, Mr Turkich, and Mrs Williams.
It was exciting to see the Queens Park Train Station reopen on Monday 9 June, allowing our Year 10 students to travel to Elizabeth Quay for their Humanities excursion last week. I was especially proud to receive a phone call from a member of the public, commending our students for their politeness and respectful behaviour while on the train. It was a gratifying affirmation of the values upheld by our students and staff.
Semester 1 Reports have now been uploaded to SEQTA. I encourage all parents and carers to celebrate the progress their children have made and support them in resetting goals where needed. Students were acknowledged for their outstanding reports at the College Assembly on Wednesday 2 July. Congratulations to the recipients of Academic Distinctions and Ad Omnia Paratus Awards.
The upcoming Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews on Monday 21 July, offer a valuable opportunity to collaborate with teachers in supporting student growth. As we move into Term 3, it will also be time for students to begin thinking about subject selections for 2026. Meeting with teachers during interviews can provide clarity and guidance during this important decision-making process.
We are excited to announce a Community Day on Saturday 20 September to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the foundation of our College. The day will be an opportunity for current and former staff and students to return to the College for tours, displays, reunions, entertainment, and a special presentation reflecting on six decades of St Norbert College.
We encourage all former staff and students to update their contact details via the College website to stay informed about this special event. Please help us spread the word and save the date!

This year’s Presentation Night will be held on the College grounds on Wednesday 29 October at 7:00pm. It will be a night of awards, entertainment, and a special celebration for our 60th anniversary. We look forward to sharing this evening with the whole College community—please save the date!
This term, we’ve been blessed by an increased Norbertine presence at the College. Fr John has commenced as our College Chaplain, working with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Br Stephen has been assisting in the Learning Hub on Tuesdays and Fridays. We are grateful for their contributions and look forward to their continued involvement with our staff and students.
We farewell and thank Miss Phillips, who has been teaching Humanities and English this term. We wish her every success as she moves to her new role at Newman College.
We also extend a warm welcome to Miss Manuel, who will commence in this position at the beginning of Term 3.
Last week the staff formally farewelled our retiring Business Manager, Mr John O'Sullivan. We thank Mr O'Sullivan for his contributions to our College over the last 7 years which included our most recent building project. God's blessings to John and his family.
Term 3 promises to be filled with highlights, including the much-anticipated Catholic Performing Arts Festival, which will showcase the diverse talents of our students.
To all staff and students, I wish you a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break. I look forward to an exciting and enriching Term 3 ahead.
God bless,
Ms S Rainford

Families who currently have a child/sibling in Year 4 are encouraged to ensure they have submitted a separate enrolment application form for the Year 7, 2028 intake. Students do not have automatic enrolment at the College, even though they may attend a Catholic Primary School or have siblings attending St Norbert College. Enrolment Interviews for Year 7 entry are completed in Term 2 when the student is in Year 5.
