Year 5 Excursion to Nazareth College

On the 18th of May, the Year 5s went to a "Taster Day" at Nazareth College. We had three subjects; Italian, Science and PE. It was all really fun!
Nazareth College started by welcoming us in the Wheelers Auditorium. They gave us all little goodie bags filled with MERCH! Then we headed off to our first lesson...
We started off by doing PE. We explored the weights room and the cardio room. The sport teacher, Mr. Brenent was really funny. We played Steal the Sash, The Bean Bag Game and John's Ladder.
After that, we had Recess. Then we had Italian! We didn't really learn the language but instead we learnt about a festival in Venice! The CARNIVALE! In the festival, everyone wore masks, so we created some. Our teacher was Mrs. N.
Then we did SCIENCE! Our teacher, Mrs Murphy (SAME NAME) performed a really cool experiment called Elephant's Toothpaste. Then we did an experiment called 'chromatography' (we drew on a paper towel with texta, then put it in water and watched the texta move along the paper towel), and we also played with BRAIN BOXES.
After Science, we had lunch! There was something called Lunchtime Jam and the secondary school students, if they performed, they got free movie tix! After that, we said FAREWELL and we left.

On Monday we went to Nazareth. When we got there, the teacher who worked at Nazareth led us to the hall so then we went. As we were going a teacher handed us a bag which said Nazareth, inside were Jelly beans, an activity book, a book about Nazareth, and sticky notes.
Then we got to the hall and the teacher talked about Nazareth. Then the teachers gave us a paper which had our schedule on it so then we went to our first subject which was music. First we played a game. He would put music on and we had to dance then he would say a number and we would get in partners.
The afternoon block was a bit chaotic and tiring but after snack we had Japanese and we learned to make origami and things in Japan like tsunamis and cherry blossoms and all the delicious foods there.
After Japanese we had P.E. We played fun games and had a game of frisbee but it was no ordinary frisbee game it was the best. We will tell you how we played! So the P.E teacher told us to get into partners and line up on the court facing each other and the people on the top would win at the end and when the time started we all threw the frisbee and if we dropped it we would go to the end and then we had lunch.
After that it was time for the farewell and we left on the bus. We all had the best time and enjoyed it.
