Year 4 Assembly

On Monday the 11th of May, the whole of Year 4 performed an Assembly! We practised for days and days and were ready for the show. When the Assembly started things were running really smoothly with the introduction but suddenly the microphone stopped! Luckily though, we could fix it. Our Assembly was on Disabilities and we had to imagine what it was like to be in someone else's shoes. Our class presented on Deafness and Hearing Impairments. I was really nervous when it was my time to speak, but it wasn't all that bad. 

For our finale song, we performed Imagine, by John Lennon. We signed the words in Auslan which is the sign language we use in Australia. Everyone clapped after the song finished. It was a very happy time. It was scary acting and singing on stage, but I faced my fears and it turned out great.

During our assembly this term we looked at respecting and understanding people who have disabilities. Every class had a different disability to present to the school and 4AA did blindness. At the end of our presentation we sang the song Imagine and also performed the sign language as well. The assembly was very fun and successful.

On Monday the 11 of May the year fours performed an amazing performance consisting of dancing, speaking, singing and signing the song Imagine by John Lennon in Auslan.

The Assembly was going so well until the microphone stopped working, but luckily Ms Marshall was there to fix it. 

The three year four class made slides on different disabilities because it is based on our inquiry unit on someone else's shoes. My class taught the crowd about two disabilities; ADHD and Autism.

 I didn't have much of a role but I didn't care, all I cared about was having fun. The last two classes did their slides on blindness and deafness. 

After the slides, Mr Thomson put the song up on the big projector screen. 

It was very scary and embarrassing but since I knew my parents were watching, I tried my very, very best and it was over done before I knew it. All that time practicing, and failing our attempts to master this day, it all paid off eventually.
