Principal's Message

By Daniel Chittenden

Hello to all of our families,

Recently, we have had a lot of Prep tours for 2027. For me, this is always a really nice moment where we can welcome new families into our school and show how proud we are of Rollins. During a tour, the students are always the highlight. I can confidently walk parents into any classroom and see students working, smiling, and happily saying hello. Visitors get a genuine sense of what it’s like at Rollins. It’s more than just academics; it’s about happy kids and happy families.

SURVEYS: This week, students in Grades 4–6 completed the Attitudes to School Survey. This anonymous data gives us valuable insight into how we are tracking as a school and what our students are thinking. Once the data becomes available, staff will review the positives and areas for growth, using it as an opportunity to improve.

Student Support Services (SSGs): Our SSG meetings are now complete. In recent years, we have seen an increase in SSG requests, so we have needed to refine eligibility, as releasing teachers can be challenging. If any parents have any concerns or questions about how their children are progressing, we strongly encourage getting in touch sooner rather than later. There are several ways to do this — via ClassDojo, arranging a meeting before or after school, or calling the office. Our aim is to address concerns early and avoid unnecessary stress.

We now move into a new recess and lunchtime phase at school - WORLD CUP FEVER!

It should be a great couple of weeks ahead.

Daniel
