We are excited to welcome our 2026 Year 10 students to the Senior Hub! Over the past two weeks, students have participated in Headstart classes, explored the classrooms in the senior building, settled into their new lockers, and met their teachers.
These activities have helped students build confidence, make connections, and lay strong foundations for a successful start to 2026. We’re looking forward to an amazing year ahead!

On a sunny Friday to celebrate the year before starting Headstart, 75 of our 2025 Year 10 students enjoyed a day at Gumbuya World. They enjoyed the waterslides, pools, rides and a wildlife show.

Students and staff from Bairnsdale Secondary College recently travelled to Maryborough to take part in the 2025 Energy Breakthrough event. Throughout the year, students collaborated to design and build a Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) — a fully enclosed tricycle — while developing their understanding of how technology can reduce environmental impact. Across the event, students presented to judges, explaining the vehicle’s design, construction and safety features. The major highlight was the team’s participation in a demanding 24-hour time trial on a street circuit around Lake Victoria. Taking turns to pedal the 1.6-kilometre course, the students showed determination and teamwork. Despite periods of early-morning rain, the team stayed positive, enthusiastic, and proud to have completed one of the event’s most challenging endurance races.

On Wednesday 10th December, 8 students attended a leadership forum held by Collingwood Football Club in Moe. Students were treated to a talk on inclusion and leadership by some of the 2023 AFL Premiers in Steele Sidebottom, Isaac Quaynor and Roan Steele. With a selection of students from other schools from across Gippsland, the group had the opportunity to ask questions of the Football leaders and get an insight into their world and the challenges they face.

16 Days of Activism is a global campaign that challenges all forms of violence and promotes equality, safety, and respect. While this movement is international, its message is just as important within our own school community.
This year, our focus has been on Respectful Behaviour—the everyday actions that make our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Respectful behaviour isn’t just about being polite; it helps prevent bullying, harassment, and gender-based violence. By modelling respect in our words and actions, we contribute to a school environment where every student feels valued, supported, and safe.
As part of the campaign, our Year 10 (2026) Level Leaders took the initiative to create text call-outs highlighting key messages about respect. Their collaborative effort produced a striking display that reflects both creativity and commitment to the cause. We are incredibly proud of their leadership and teamwork in promoting a positive school culture.

Get ready to celebrate in style! Friday 27th March 2026 is the date for next year’s Year 11 Formal—an evening full of fun, friends, and unforgettable memories.
To get everyone prepared, dance lessons will be held on Wednesday evenings in Term 1 2026, so students can perfect their moves for the big night.
And stay tuned—an exciting theme for the Formal will be announced soon!
