Principal's Message

Hello everyone,
As we approach the end of the term, I want to acknowledge the efforts of our students, staff and families throughout what has been a busy and productive year. Today marks the final day of formal classes for all year levels. Next week, students who are attending school will take part in an alternative program. Key dates for the remainder of Term 4 can be found in our Dates to remember and events page
Last Thursday 4th December, our Instrumental Music students took to the stage for the Summer Gala Concert. The evening was a wonderful celebration of their hard work and talent. Each ensemble performed beautifully, and the night concluded with the concert band performing Czech Folk Song Fantasy. It was a truly memorable moment for everyone present.
I also had the honour of conducting the College Orchestra for one of the pieces. We’re always encouraging students to step outside their comfort zone, and this time it was definitely my turn—I think I was more nervous than the musicians!
On Wednesday 11th December, I had the honour of attending the Girls at the Centre (G@TC) Celebration. This event recognised the achievements and personal growth of students involved in the program. It was inspiring to see students, families and staff united in celebrating their dedication and success.
Congratulations to all students who received awards. I would also like to express my appreciation to our G@TC team—Simone, Chloe and Maddi—for the invaluable support they provide. Their commitment to student wellbeing and engagement is deeply appreciated.
Yesterday marked an exciting milestone as our 2025 graduating cohort received their ATAR results. I could not be prouder of every single one of our VCE and VCE VM students—your determination, courage and effort throughout the year have truly shone.
A massive congratulations to our VCE Dux, Mary, who achieved an outstanding ATAR of 92.2, and to Lillian, our well-deserved VCE VM Dux. Mary and Lillian, your achievements are nothing short of inspiring. Your dedication, hard work and passion have paid off in the most wonderful way. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement.
A big congratulations goes out to all our VCE and VCE VM students on their outstanding results. This year’s achievements have been exceptional, with noticeable growth in ATAR averages, study scores and English performance. Our students have shown remarkable perseverance and commitment, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have accomplished.
Presentation Evening will be held next Tuesday 16th December, and it promises to be a wonderful occasion for our entire College community. This special evening gives us the chance to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students from Year 7 through to Year 12. We will also witness the ceremonial handover of leadership, as our current College Captains pass on the responsibility and privilege of guiding the College to the next generation of student leaders.
Throughout 2025, our College has continued to focus on both the learning and wellbeing of the more than 1,200 students who attend our school each day. Our team of staff have worked collectively to:
- Strengthen meaningful relationships between students and adults
- Improve student engagement in learning
- Expand pathways and opportunities
- Foster a calm, safe and respectful school environment
- Empower students through leadership and student voice
- Build effective structures that support our work and prepare us for 2026
- Enhance leadership capacity to drive sustained improvement
I would like to thank our entire College community for your ongoing support. Our achievements are possible because of the collaboration between students, families, staff and our wider community partners. Your involvement helps us create a school where young people feel valued and supported to reach their potential.
As the year draws to a close, I wish you all a restful and enjoyable holiday break. May it be filled with time spent doing the things you love.
We look forward to 2026 with great excitement and optimism.
Sincerely,
Tony Roberts
Principal
