Blue Room Report
As we move into the final stretch of the year, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate the incredible progress the Blue Room students have made within their first year of school.
This term, we’ve continued to see wonderful growth and achievements in student confidence, independence, and learning across all disciplines. Some of the Key areas they have excelled in include:
Developing routines and independence which involves checking in and following classroom schedules, great strides in self-help tasks like unpacking bags and independent dressing.
Communication and social development: Through play-based learning, group time and social skills activities, the students are learning how to share, resolve conflict, take turns, problem solve and express their feelings.
Positive Behaviour Support: Continued implementation of our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support strategies is helping students self-regulate, develop respect and resilience which has helped them succeed in both academic and social settings.
Literacy and Numeracy Foundations: Throughout the year students have been exploring reading, letter sounds, counting, shapes, colours, patterns and basic number concepts in ways that suit their individual learning styles.
Life Skills Development: Many students are engaging in hands-on learning through cooking, money handling, independent travel training, and personal care programs.
It’s been such a joy to watch each student achieve their goals in meaningful and inspiring ways as they build confidence, express themselves safely and form friendships along the way. We are proud of each student’s unique journey and the milestones they've reached. Thank you to families for the ongoing support and for working in partnership with us.
