Trafalgar Girls Shine at State Volleyball – Top 8 in Victoria and Spirit of Sport Award!
Our Trafalgar Primary School Girls Volleyball team recently competed at the Victorian State Volleyball Championships at Dandenong Stadium, facing off against the very best teams from across the state.
The team performed exceptionally well, finishing in the top 8 in Victoria – a remarkable achievement and a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and skill. Beyond their impressive results on the court, our girls were also awarded the Spirit of Sport Award, recognising their outstanding sportsmanship, positivity, and respect for other teams throughout the competition.
This achievement highlights not only the talent and commitment of our players but also the supportive culture of teamwork and fair play that Trafalgar Primary School encourages in all sporting programs.
We congratulate the girls on this outstanding performance and the recognition they have received. Their effort and conduct are a credit to themselves, their families, and our school community.

Outstanding Effort from Trafalgar Girls Softball Team
Our Trafalgar Primary School Girls Softball team had an outstanding day at the Gippsland Regional Softball competition at Kilcunda Bass Football Oval, finishing in 4th place in the region!
The girls played with fantastic skill, teamwork, and determination, earning recognition from other teams and officials for their effort and sportsmanship. It was inspiring to see their confidence and passion on display throughout the day.
We are incredibly proud of every player for representing Trafalgar Primary School with such energy and spirit, and for showing what can be achieved when talent and teamwork come together.

Trafalgar Girls Make Their Mark at Regional Cricket
Our Trafalgar Primary School Girls Cricket Blast team competed at the Gippsland Regional Cricket Blast on Wednesday 12 November at W H Burrage Reserve, Newborough.
The team put in a fantastic effort against strong competition from across Gippsland, finishing 5th overall. Throughout the day, the girls demonstrated excellent cricket skills, determination, and teamwork, earning praise from both coaches and opposition teams for their sportsmanship and positive attitude.
This event was another wonderful opportunity for our students to develop their cricket skills and represent Trafalgar Primary School at a regional level. We are proud of the dedication, enthusiasm, and resilience shown by all participants.
Grade 3–4 Cricket Blast School Cup – Fantastic Team Performances
Our Grade 3–4 Cricket Blast Cup was a fantastic day of cricket, teamwork, and sportsmanship at Western Park Reserve, Warragul!
Congratulations to our Boys A team and Girls A team, who both won their competitions in outstanding fashion. The Boys B and C teams also had a strong showing, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Division 2 competition.
Meanwhile, Girls B, Girls C, and Boys D put in a fabulous day of effort, scoring runs, taking wickets, and earning numerous shoutouts from the opposition for their skill, sportsmanship, and positive attitude on the field. It was wonderful to see all students encouraging each other and representing Trafalgar Primary School with pride.
The event showcased the enthusiasm, talent, and teamwork of our younger cricketers, and we look forward to building on this success in future cricket programs. Well done to all students who participated!

South East Melbourne Phoenix Bring Basketball Fun to Trafalgar Primary!
Yesterday, Trafalgar Primary School had the excitement of hosting players and staff from the South East Melbourne Phoenix (NBL) as part of the La Trobe City Festival of Basketball.
Students from Grades 3–6, along with a few enthusiastic Foundation–2 observers, enjoyed a high-energy session on the outdoor basketball court. The Phoenix team ran a mix of fun exhibition activities, including knockout and dribble challenges, and shared insights about the upcoming GRISS matches.
The visit also included a group photo and signing opportunities for students who brought Phoenix merchandise. Students were thrilled to meet some of their favourite players and experience the game up close.
Events like this are a fantastic way to inspire student participation, promote physical activity, and celebrate the joy of basketball at Trafalgar Primary.

Growing Cricket for Girls Program Wraps Up Strongly
Our Growing Cricket for Girls program has now wrapped up for Term 4, and we are thrilled with the engagement, effort, and positivity shown by all participants. Over the four weeks, students enthusiastically took part in skill-based activities and modified games delivered by Cricket Victoria, helping build confidence, teamwork, and a love of cricket among our female students.
The program strongly supported our school’s commitment to “Everyone in, nobody out,” by creating a welcoming space for girls of all ages and experience levels to try something new, develop their skills, and enjoy being active together.

A big thank you to Cricket Victoria for their partnership and to all families who supported their children’s involvement. We look forward to continuing to grow and promote girls’ participation in sport through future opportunities.

Grade 3–6 Tennis Clinics Underway
Our Grade 3–6 Tennis Clinics are now well underway at the Trafalgar Tennis Club, and the first week was full of energy, laughter, and plenty of action on the courts. Students were fully engaged, trying out new skills, encouraging each other, and clearly having a great time as they explored the game of tennis in a supportive and fun environment.
Delivered in partnership with the Trafalgar Tennis Club, each class participates in two 45-minute sessions aligned with their usual Sport lesson time. So far, students have practised key tennis skills through a variety of tennis drills and games.
We look forward to the final week of clinics and seeing our students continue to develop their skills and enthusiasm for tennis.

Our Lunchtime Clubs continue to be a wonderful way for students to connect, try new activities, and enjoy positive play during the school day. We’ve loved seeing so many students joining in, making friends, and finding activities that match their interests. We are also looking ahead to 2026, where we hope to expand our offerings to include some outdoor lunchtime clubs such as Wooden Games.
Craft and Connect
In Craft and Connect, students recently entered the Enrich Realty colouring competition. Ms S delivered the entries, and prizes will be drawn on 28 November. Some weeks, students are free to create their own projects using their imagination; on others, we provide themed activities. This week, students made colourful peacocks using paper cups—some followed the instructions closely, while others added their own creative flair.

Lego Fun Club
Lego Fun Club continues to be extremely popular. Students enjoy working together on builds, forming new friendships, and supporting each other—especially our older students mentoring the younger ones. Most sessions this year have been open-ended creative play, and we are planning to introduce themed Lego challenges in 2026 to extend their problem-solving and design skills.

Book Club

In Book Club this month, Mrs Scouller read Reflection, a story honouring those who serve in war, as part of our school’s Remembrance Day commemorations. Students listened thoughtfully, discussed the message of the book, and created their own poppy wreaths with great care and creativity.

Last week, students enjoyed The Very Hungry Caterpillar, followed by a hands-on activity where they coloured and cut out different images from the story to create the lifecycle of a butterfly.
Any feedback, ideas, or support for our lunchtime clubs is always welcome. We gratefully accept donations of craft supplies, Lego/Duplo, or wooden games to help keep our clubs engaging and accessible for all students.
The Rotary Junior Community Award recognises Grade 6 students who show initiative, community spirit, and commitment across areas such as service, physical activity, social development, and academic achievement. On Thursday 20th November, our participating students proudly presented their year-long projects to the Rotary Club, sharing their reflections and showcasing their work through a short speech and display. Families joined in to celebrate their efforts. Congratulations to all twenty Grade 6 students on their outstanding dedication and achievement.

The Junior School Councillors have been working very hard this term, working out what charities Trafalgar Primary School would like to support, and the fun ways to do it!

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, 10th December, when we'll be hosting our final fundraiser of the year! Our Junior School Councillors are inviting everyone to get creative with crazy hairstyles and silly socks for a fun-filled day.
Students are encouraged to 'go crazy and be creative' with their looks and bring along a gold coin donation.
All proceeds will be donated to the RSPCA, a wonderful charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. The RSPCA also investigates animal cruelty and provides valuable education on animal welfare.
Let's come together to support our furry friends and end the year on a fun and compassionate note!
From your Junior School Councillors and Mrs Sneddon.
