Year 6 Graduation

The crowd fell silent as they watched the many Year 6 students cross the stage, a flurry of fancy dresses and suits. The video played through the silence, some adults even getting a bit teary. Familiar faces were scattered through the crowd, watching proudly as the Class of 2025 finally graduated in a special Graduation ceremony.

20 years from now...

The Year 6 Graduation was lots of preparation, as we started writing our ‘20 years from now’ piece early in the term. It was a thoughtful and rewarding piece to write and many of the Year 6 creative writers ran loose! After carefully publishing our ‘20 years from now’ piece, we started our Graduation artwork. It involved a lot of cutting and drawing, but the end product became a stunning display. When we put both pieces together on red cardboard, we then displayed it on boards at the LMC foyer.

The Graduation dinner was a stunning experience which involved a lot of dancing and eating. Some of the dances we did were the Cha Cha Slide; 5, 6, 7, 8; The Nutbush; and Your Way's Better. We also played a game of Guess Who with pictures of the Year 6 students and the teachers from when they were Preps. For the main course, the options were crumbed chicken or beef. For dessert, the options were Biscoff cheesecake or a black forest cake. All of the food at Chirnside Park Country Club was utterly delicious!

Graduation was so much fun and was a great success! I guess we have to wait all the way till Year 12 to do it again, but even better!
