Reminder

The U13 Rugby League boys will take on Woree School on Wednesday, 26 November (Week 8) at 4:00 pm on St Mary's Oval. Come down and cheer on the boys for their last game of the year.


2025 Sports Awards Presentation

St Mary’s has enjoyed a remarkable year in sport, with many teams reaching significant milestones:

  • 4 CISSA teams reached the Grand Finals. 2 Crowned Champions
  • 6 JSS teams reached the Grand Finals. 5 Crowned Champions
  • Cross Country team crowned TCS Champions
  • Track and Field team crowned TCS Champions
  • Senior Girls Netball team crowned Vicki Wilson Regional Champions
  • Junior Girls Netball team crowned Vicki Wilson Regional Champions
  • Senior Boys Volleyball team crowned FNQ Champions
  • FNQ Cowboys Rugby League Challenge Champions
  • Confraternity Men of League Challenge Cup Champions
  • Bentley 7’s Junior Netball Champions
  • Bentley 7’s Junior Volleyball Champions
  • 576 students participated in sporting teams
  • 328 students represented TCS
  • 59 students represented Peninsula

 

Tuesday, we celebrated the achievements of our St Mary's students with over 100 parents and guardians. Congratulations to all our students who were committed to a St Mary's sports team in 2025, and well done to all the award recipients.

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to St Mary’s, to Kerry, Louise, our Senior Leadership Team, my colleagues, and our students for the unwavering support you have shown to both the sports department and me. It has truly been a privilege and an honour to lead this department and to work alongside such dedicated coaches.

Term 4 Sports Program Highlights

This term, we’re mixing things up with a fresh lineup of sports activities to keep everyone moving and motivated. Please take a moment to review the weekly schedule so you know what’s on and can come prepared—especially for swimming sessions!

 

Off-Site Activities

  • Some sports will take place off-campus, with transportation provided via bus.
  • Swimming sessions will be held at Woree Pool, and students will walk to the venue.

     

What to Bring

To make the most of your sports sessions, don’t forget:

  • A hat 
  • Sunscreen 
  • A water bottle 
  • Appropriate swimwear for aquatic activities

Herb’s Training and Swim School

Herb’s Training and Swim School, in partnership with Central Cairns Swimming Inc., is establishing a Para Swimming Hub for Far North Queensland and will be hosting a free swim clinic and information session:

 

Friday, 5 December 2025

5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Trinity Bay State High School Pool, Hoare Street, Manunda

 

The session, titled “Towards Competition”, is open to swimmers with disability who are interested in learning more about para-swimming pathways, meeting the coaching team, and getting involved in future programs, clinics, and camps leading into Brisbane 2032.

Redlynch Strikers United FC

Redlynch Strikers United FC is excited to announce our Boys & Mixed Teams Football Trials as we prepare for the 2026 season!

 

Location: Brinsmead Fields (next to Freshwater Christian College)

Trial Times: 4:50 pm – 6:30 pm

Trial Dates & Teams: Monday, 24 November: Ages 15 & 16 (Born 2011 & 2010)

 

Who Should Attend:

  • All current players looking to continue in 2026
  • New players eager to join a passionate and supportive football community
