Semester 2 Reports Now Available on Compass

Student reports for Semester 2 were released on Monday and are now available through Compass. Please note that reports will not be printed, so families should access them online. If you need help logging in or viewing your child’s report, please contact the school office—we’re happy to assist.

Your child’s report is a wonderful snapshot of their effort, progress, and achievements this semester. When you sit down to read it together:

  • Celebrate successes – Take time to acknowledge the hard work and growth your child has shown.
  • Share the positives – Ask what they enjoyed learning and what they feel proud of.
  • Look ahead – If there are areas for improvement, talk about them as exciting goals for next year.

Keeping Learning Fun Over the Summer

The holidays are the perfect time to relax and recharge—but they’re also a great opportunity to keep learning enjoyable and stress-free. Here are some simple ideas:

  • Read together every day – Choose books your child loves and chat about the story.
  • Play with numbers – Cooking, shopping, or board games are great ways to practice maths without worksheets.
  • Write for fun – Encourage letters to friends, holiday journals, or creative stories.
  • Explore and discover – Visit the library, local parks, or museums to spark curiosity.
  • Keep a gentle routine – A little quiet time for reading or creative play helps maintain focus.
  • Celebrate effort – Praise persistence and problem-solving, not just results, to build confidence.

Happy Holidays

As we wrap up a fantastic school year, I want to take a moment to share a personal message with our Deer Park West PS community. From the very first day, I have felt incredibly welcomed, and I am so grateful for the kindness and support shown by our families, staff, and students.

One of the true highlights of my year has been getting to know our students. They are not only curious and hardworking but also genuinely kind and respectful. Their manners and positive attitude make our school such a special place, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this community.

Looking ahead, I’m excited for what 2026 will bring—new learning opportunities, fresh challenges, and plenty of moments to celebrate growth and success together. Our students have achieved so much this year, and I can’t wait to see them continue to shine.

As we head into the summer holidays, I hope you enjoy a safe, happy, and relaxing break. Take time to recharge, spend quality moments with family and friends, and make the most of our beautiful Melbourne summer—whether that’s exploring local parks, enjoying a day at the beach, or simply soaking up the sunshine in your backyard.

Thank you once again for making this year so memorable. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season, and I look forward to seeing everyone back, refreshed and ready for an amazing year ahead!
