Peer Mediation

Peer Mediation 2025 – A Brand New Beginning
2025 marked the very first year of Peer Mediation at Blackburn Primary, and we are so proud of the students who helped bring this brand-new program to life.
Our Peer Mediators played an important role in supporting student voice and building wellbeing across the school. Throughout the year, they helped students work through small problems, build positive friendships and feel safe and supported in the playground. By listening carefully, showing empathy and guiding others to find solutions, our Mediators made a real difference to everyday school life.
Being part of this new program also gave our Peer Mediators the chance to grow as leaders. They developed skills in communication, problem-solving and responsibility, while learning more about how to look after their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.
A special thank you to our 2025 Peer Mediators (listed alphabetically by surname):Alistair Rudland, Aliya Fritsch, Arielle Lau, Audrey Keys, Caitlin Kang, Charlie Hansen, Chelsea Rankin, Henry Zhang, Isla Farrell, Ivy Talwar, Kai Emans, Krishiv Saxena, Madison Pearson, Melanie Kong, Melanie Loie, Naqiya Gain, Olive Robottom, Radin Fakhfoori, Radin Saadatinia, Rose Strempel, Sakina Haidermota, Shravya Shinde, Valerie Yan, Zara Dhingra and Zoe Kontaratos.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, care and commitment these students showed in helping start something new at our school. Their efforts have supported our goal of building a school where students feel confident, included and supported each day.
Mrs Arthur, Miss Crabb, Ms Sage and Mrs Stansfield have greatly enjoyed launching this program alongside the students and watching it begin to grow.
Well done to our 2025 Peer Mediators — we are excited to see this program continue to grow in the years ahead.
