Term 4, Week
As we wrap up Term 4, Grade 1/2 students should be very proud of everything they have achieved this year!
We have been busy revisiting a range of non-fiction texts in Reading, focusing on how to retell key information clearly. More recently, we’ve enjoyed responding to festive Christmas craft-themed texts as part of our reader responses.
In Writing, students have been working hard to complete their Writers’ Gifts. This has included creating their own wrapping paper and carefully checking that each published piece is completed to the best of their ability. We also wrote a persuasive piece encouraging others to give plastics a second chance.
In Maths, we have explored financial maths by learning about money and using our skip-counting skills to help work out cents to a dollar. We also investigated Capacity and Mass using scales and hands-on activities.
Our Inquiry unit concluded with a fantastic reused-plastic grid display. Each student created a birds-eye-view grid of BPS using repurposed plastic items. These are proudly on display in the Junior Building—come and take a look!
Well done to all our Grade 1/2 students for such a wonderful year, especially during such a busy term. Thank you to all parents and carers for your ongoing support.
Wishing everyone a safe and Merry Christmas!
