French News

Bonjour dear parents and students!
We can’t believe how quickly this term is flying by, and we’re enjoying every moment of it with our wonderful students.
Here is a snapshot of what each year level has been working on in Week 7 and Week 8:
Prep students have been revisiting fruits and have been learning how to name them using J’ai (I have).
Grade 1 students learnt to count from 1 to 30 and learnt to name family members using J’ai (I have).
Grade 2 students learnt to describe the suburb they live in and built on this knowledge to describe it using prepositions.
Grade 3 students learnt to ask yes/no questions and choice questions using the stem “Est-ce que…?” (Do you…? Can I…? Is he…? Are we…?). They then built on this knowledge to design their own survey, using these types of questions.
Grade 4 students learnt to count from 0 to 100, and in week 8, they learnt to role play a dialogue to purchase furniture using French currency.
Grade 5 students worked on their French self-profile, and on a bakery dialogue.
Grade 6 students worked on their French self-profile, and their French teachers helped them proofread the final Canva document. Un grand merci (a huge thank you) to all the Grade 6 classroom teachers who have kindly helped us with printing out the self-portrait for students to paste into their scrapbook.
If you would like to do some revision at home with your children, please feel free to use the resources provided above. For our lovely Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, we have also included some songs below to help support memory retention.
A big bravo to all our wonderful students – we’re incredibly proud of you, and we look forward to seeing you all in the classroom!
Warm regards et à très vite,
Madame Ma, Mr Martins, Mr Zach and Miss Martine.
