SEQTA Access Ending – Important Information

As part of Program Kaartdijin, all public schools are transitioning to Compass Education. While this new platform brings many benefits, it is not compatible with SEQTA. As a result, our school will conclude its use of SEQTA, with parent access to SEQTA ceasing on 19 July (the final day of the Term 2 holidays).

We are working to transfer key information into the new system wherever possible. If you wish to download and save copies of important documents currently stored in SEQTA (e.g. Semester Reports, NAPLAN, OLNA), please do so before 19 July.

Please note that school staff are not available during the holidays to provide assistance. If you need help with accessing or downloading these documents, please contact Applecross.SHS.AdminComputing@education.wa.edu.au before the end of Term 2 (3 July 2026)

Thank you for your support in managing this transition.

Dr Lainie Gara, Associate Principal Years 7-9

Now available on SchoolTV - Dealing with Conflict

Conflict is a natural and unavoidable part of family life. As children grow, differences in opinions, emotions and expectations can sometimes lead to tension at home, at school or with peers. While these moments can feel challenging, they also present valuable opportunities to teach young people important life skills. How conflict is managed within the family plays a key role in shaping a child’s ability to communicate, regulate emotions and navigate relationships.

For adult carers, supporting children through conflict means staying calm, listening with empathy and modelling respectful problem-solving. When handled constructively, conflict can strengthen relationships, build resilience and help children develop the confidence to manage disagreements in healthy and productive ways.

This edition of SchoolTV explores practical strategies to help families approach conflict with greater understanding and confidence.

Order Smarter with the Spriggy App – Don’t Forget the Drinks!

Gallery Image

To help make recess and lunchtime easier for families, our school canteen encourages parents to use online ordering via the link below.

This simple and convenient system allows you to place your child’s lunch order, no searching for cash in the morning and no forgotten lunch orders!

Ordering through the Spriggy App helps the canteen operate more efficiently and ensures students receive their meals promptly at lunchtime. It also gives parents the opportunity to view the full canteen menu, check prices and make considered food choices in advance.

A quick reminder for parents:

When placing an online canteen order, please include a drink if your child requires one. Including the drink required in the original order helps our canteen team with collection.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to download the Spriggy App, set up your child’s profile and start placing orders today. It’s a great way to streamline your morning routine while supporting our school canteen.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation!

Finance Reminders

We are now nearing the halfway mark of Term 2 already!  Thank you to all parents and caregivers who have paid the School Fees for 2026.   There are still many families that have not made full payment of compulsory charges for this school year.  If you have not made a payment, your prompt attention is requested in finalising your account for 2026.  Please contact the Finance Department at your earliest convenience if you wish to discuss payment of your children’s school fees. Please be reminded that debt collectors are used for all outstanding school charges.

P & C Day - 22 May

Did you know that, at last count, WA P&Cs donated an estimated $15 million and nearly 500,000 volunteer hours each year to Western Australian school communities?

Our very own P&C has donated many items and services to Applecross SHS.  Last year, they subsidised our house flags, model sail boats, a Wellbeing space for students, school blazers, an outdoor table to accommodate wheelchairs, storage, CORE house rewards, revision workshops, CORE Camp, graduation sheets, a photoelectric machine, 30x tables and chairs, graduation gowns and the Year 12 P&C Award.  We are so grateful for their hard work and generous contributions.

P&Cs work tirelessly on initiatives that benefit children at public schools. P&Cs are involved in many activities, from facilitating parent participation and involvement in the school to acting as a forum for parents to discuss school issues and providing resources to the school via fundraising.

Each year, we pause to celebrate and acknowledge the magnificent contributions of our P&C Associations. This year, P&C Day WA will be celebrated on Friday, 22 May.

We encourage those interested in P&Cs to visit the WACSSO website (www.wacsso.wa.edu.au) to learn more about their work.
