Spotlight on Learning - Lizard Pod

Lizard Pod had an action-packed week, beginning with a special visit from author and illustrator Sami Bayly. Sami captivated everyone with fascinating facts about unique animals and entertained us with amusing stories, including a tale about a clever cassowary escaping from the zoo! Students enjoyed learning how to create scientific drawings, focusing on the proboscis monkey, and discovered Sami’s careful painting process using watercolours.

In mathematics, Lizard Pod explored different ways to combine numbers, helping us to understand addition and subtraction with larger numbers. Through hands-on activities and discussion, students developed their problem-solving skills and shared creative strategies for tackling number combinations.

During PE lessons, we concentrated on improving our kicking technique and soccer skills. Students practised through engaging games and drills, building confidence and teamwork while having plenty of fun on the billabong. It has been a wonderful week of learning, creativity and active participation for Lizard Pod!
