Learn to Play Handbells
After experiencing a commendable Handbell performance by Mr Philpot's Year 9 music students, I am keen to offer the formation of a new Handbell ensemble at King's College. Both staff and students are aware of this special musical sound, as the Year 9 students performed at both the Junior and Senior Assemblies last week. I would like to select 10 - 15 students primarily from Year 6 to Year 10 to join this new ensemble.
The main criteria is that students must already be able to read music and attend rehearsals on Tuesdays before school, beginning at 8AM. All students interested in being part of this group should come along on the upcoming mornings of June 18th & 25th in the Junior Music Room to register their interest and try out for a place in this unique music group.
I own a 3 1/2 octave chromatic set of Schulmerich Handbells and have had extensive experience teaching students and adults with these amazing bronze Handbells. I now am offering a group of committed students the chance to represent the school with yet another joyous sound!
