What a term it has been! Congratulations to all students for completing a successful and eventful Term 2. Last week Grade 3s enjoyed their excursion to Earth Ed consolidating their understanding about landscapes, erosion, geography and sustainability. This week all teachers will be conferencing with each student to review students’ learning goals and discuss their reports in preparation for parent teacher interviews for next week. Students have also been eagerly practising their concert songs and beginning the process of learning their routines – how exciting!

We wish all families a happy, restful and safe school holiday and see you all next term.

It has been a huge Term 2 and we're finally coming to a close. However, we are not taking the foot off the pedal just yet. Our students have been working incredibly hard across all subjects, showing dedication and enthusiasm in their learning.

In Reading, we have been focusing on analysing illustrations. We have been studying the text The Way of Dog, which, despite having only a few illustrations, provides significant insights into how the author wants us to perceive the characters and situations. Students have been honing their skills in interpreting these visual cues to gain a deeper understanding of the narrative.

In Writing, our students have embarked on an imaginative journey to futuristic lands. They have been crafting persuasive texts, aiming to convince their audience why they should visit these innovative and creative worlds. This exercise has not only enhanced their persuasive writing skills but also allowed them to unleash their creativity and critical thinking.

In Numeracy, our focus has been on the order of operations using BIDMAS (Brackets, Indices, Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction). Students have been diligently mastering this concept, and we are now delving deeper into multiplication. The hard work and determination they have shown in tackling these challenging topics are truly commendable.

An important letter regarding the upcoming school camp will be sent out soon. While this letter will provide some details, more information on what to pack will follow closer to the date. Please keep an eye out for these communications to ensure you have all the necessary information.

🌴 Approaching Well-Deserved School Holidays! 🌴

The school holidays are almost here. It's a well-deserved break for your child to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. Take this opportunity to celebrate their achievements and create lasting memories together. We encourage you to provide opportunities for reading, exploration, and engaging in enjoyable learning experiences during the holidays.

Before we send you on holidays, let’s update you with what is happening in the classroom. We have been inundated with lollies, chocolate, and everything ever so sweet! We have conducted blind lolly tasting, watched, listened, and smelt popcorn being made to reading the novel - Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Words spinning around in our heads – delicate, magnificent, bulbous, delicious…

We even enjoyed delicious treats in Numeracy! We used skittles to assist us to show fractions. Then we converted fractions to decimals and then percentages. The things you can do with yummy treats!

We are grateful for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,
